What Your Wedding Officiant Won't Tell You
What your Wedding Officiant won't tell you:
I am a firm believer that words are spells. Be it positive or negative, words and the way they are used have the power to shape your life. So I make a conscious effort to be mindful of my usage of different terminologies.
Unfortunately when most people think of marriage or even the idea of getting married, a union that was orginally intended to be so sacred, so beautiful, now lackluster and is now been associated with a negative connotations. You've seen it, you've heard it and you may have even experienced it for yourself.
I'm not sharing this information to alarm you, not by any means however, statistics show that in the year of 2020,
40 to 50 percent of married couples in the United States divorce. I'm curious though, have you ever sat back and wondered, why?
Here's my thought on why 40/50 percent of marriages end in divorce:
1.Most people get lost in the traditions and not the practicalities of marriage (a marriage that works for you and your partner).
2. Our concept of commitment is out of balance and those thought processes that we've implemented, practiced and have become habitual is a matter of insanity. As a result we roam aimlessly in and out of relationships in which we commit to spending years wasting time. We've mastered the art of quantity over quality.
3. Our relationships have no vision, no sense of direction and a relationship with no destination will ultimately lead to a tragic end.
I said ALL of that to say this: Anything that you label has an expectation to perform. So let's start over and do love and life on our own terms. Let us do away with getting lost in the terminology of MARRIAGE and all of the negative connotations that it is associated with, instead let us do life together, let's enter a LIFE PARTNERSHIP.
On that note allow me to reintroduce myself. I am Dr. Shannon Walter and I am your Life-Partner Officiant.
Making the decision to become ONE is a journey that doesn't fall short of it's ability to process different life-cycles, it's all apart of the evolution process of your Partnership.
